The investment value of natural yellow diamonds is highlighted

Yellow diamonds are often described as gold and canary, reflecting their intense, warm glow. In Australia, the Ellendair diamond mining region is one of the main sources of high-value yellow diamonds. The discovery of these diamonds led to a groundbreaking discovery that would greatly impact the diamond world.

Ellendale holds a very special place in diamond history. The Elendale diamond mining district is the first of three hard rock diamond deposits discovered in Australia. In 1969, diamonds were discovered in the Elendale area. In November 1976, geologists discovered a new type of diamond matrix, olivine potash and magnesium porphyry. Prior to this, it was believed that kimberlite was the only economic source for diamonds. The discovery sparked intense diamond exploration and culminated in the discovery of the infamous Argyle Potash Magnesium Porphyry Mine, known for pink diamonds, in Australia’s neighbouring East Kimberley region, about 420 kilometers northeast of Ellendale.
High-value Fancy Vivid yellow diamonds are the hallmark of the Ellendair diamond fields, where 12% of diamond production is high-value Fancy Vivid yellow diamonds. Ellendale used to account for 50% of the world’s annual Fancy Vivid yellow diamond supply. Between 2009 and 2015, Tiffany & Co. had exclusive rights to purchase Fancy Vivid yellow diamonds from Ellendale
