Member Code of Conduct
The International Crystal Industry Alliance (ICIA) is the leading association of Global’s preeminent manufacturers, importers, and wholesale dealers of Crystals and Gem jewelry. Our association promotes and advances the interests of the Global Crystal and Gem jewelry industry and supports all of our industry’s diverse stakeholders. We act as a responsible voice of the Global Crystal industry on all national and international issues impacting our industry. While working to promote growth and profitability for our industry, we remain dedicated to advancing our industry’s reputation and good standing.
The ICIA is equally committed to legal compliance and maintaining the highest ethical practice standards in all business dealings. We believe that the reputation and integrity of the Crystals and Gem jewelry manufactured and sold by our members and the reputation and integrity of our members are essential to the future success, growth, and prosperity of our industry and our industry members.
With those goals in mind, we have established this Code of Conduct. The ICIA Code of Conduct applies to all ICIA members. It intends to guide ICIA members in conducting their businesses and carrying out their ethical, moral, social, and legal responsibilities in their business dealings. These goals are best accomplished by building consumer trust and confidence in our members and their products, promoting quality, integrity, and transparency in the sale and distribution of our products, and playing a responsible leadership role in our society.
ICIA Member Code of Conduct
1. Professional Integrity
- Members must act with honesty, integrity, and transparency in all business dealings.
- Members should avoid any practices that could be seen as deceptive, fraudulent, or misleading.
2. Quality and Accuracy
- Members are required to ensure the highest level of quality and accuracy in the certification and grading of crystals.
- They should maintain strict standards of testing, analysis, and reporting.
3. Fair Trade and Competitiveness
- Members should engage in fair competition and avoid unethical business practices.
- They should respect intellectual property rights and proprietary technologies of others in the industry.
4. Confidentiality
- Members are expected to maintain confidentiality regarding proprietary information, client data, and any sensitive information acquired during business activities.
5. Respect for Laws and Regulations
- Members must comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards in their respective jurisdictions, as well as international norms and standards.
6. Environmental Responsibility
- Members should actively seek to minimize their environmental impact and adopt sustainable practices in their sourcing, production, and certification activities.
7. Non-Discrimination and Respect
- Members must treat all individuals fairly, without discrimination, harassment, or bias.
- They should foster a respectful and inclusive environment in all interactions.
8. Conflict of Interest
- Members must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may influence their professional judgment or decision-making.
9. Customer Service and Support
- Members should provide excellent customer service, handling client concerns or disputes in a timely and professional manner.
- They must honor warranties, guarantees, and certifications to maintain client trust.
10. Ongoing Education and Standards Compliance
- Members should engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with industry standards, certifications, and technological advances.
- They are also expected to cooperate with audits and reviews conducted by ICIA to ensure compliance with the code of conduct.
